No. 11 BC Takes On No. 14 Virginia

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 11 Boston College field hockey team continues ACC play, heading to Charlottesville, Virginia to face the No. 14 Virginia Cavaliers on Friday, April 2 at 2 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
BC took on No. 2 Louisville at home and upset the Cardinals, 1-0. Sky Caron scored the game's lone goal on a penalty stroke to lift BC to victory. In goal, freshman Emily Gillespie made her second-career start, stopping four shots in her shutout performance. For her efforts, Gillespie was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Scouting the Eagles
BC's offense has been led by the forward trio of Elizabeth Warner, Margo Carlin and Jaime Natale. Warner leads BC with six goals and one assist for 13 points, while Carlin leads the Eagles with six assists and 12 points. Natale has added four goals and one assist. Warner is tied for second in the ACC with .667 goals per game, while Carlin leads the conference with .667 assists per game. Warner and Carlin are third and fourth in the ACC with 1.44 and 1.33 points per game, respectively.
 
In goal, Emily Gillespie started the last two games for BC, earning wins over Northeastern and Louisville. Jonna Kennedy has started most games for BC this year and has a 2.57 GAA and .743 save percentage in seven appearances.

Virginia enters as the No. 14 team in the country with a 5-10 record. Offensively, they're led by Laura Janssen and Adele Iacobucci, who has eight goals and seven goals, respectively. Amber Ezechiels leads the team with seven assists.
 
Both Lauren Hausheer (nine starts) and Taylor Henriksen (five starts) have gotten time in net. They have combined for a 2.27 GAA and .679 save percentage.
