Eagles Fall to No. 1 Northwestern

NEWTON, Mass. – Boston College field hockey (1-3) fell 2-0 to No.1 Northwestern (3-0) on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Boston College generated opportunities throughout the contest, recording 12 shots and seven penalty corners. The Eagles held Northwestern scoreless through the first two quarters despite the Wildcats registering 11 shots in the opening half.
Goalkeeper Charlotte Kramer made six saves for the Eagles, including five in the opening quarter. Caroline Chisholm also recorded a defensive save late in the fourth quarter.
Northwestern would pull ahead with two goals in the third quarter and hold on to remain undefeated on the season.Â
UP NEXT
The Eagles remain in Massachusetts for their next two contests, hosting Maine at UMass Lowell on Sept. 11 at noon before traveling to Harvard on Sept. 13.
