Eagles Shut Out Maine, 5-0, in Lowell

Lowell, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team (2-3) defeated Maine (2-3) in a 5-0 shutout on Friday afternoon with five goal scorers for the Eagles.
The Eagles outshot their opponent 33-3 with 21 of those being shots on goal.
Klara Mueffelmann opened the scoring, finding the back of the cage for her third goal of the season off an assist from Melea Weber. The Eagles doubled their advantage with just 1:24 remaining in the half when Regan Welsh scored her first collegiate goal to send BC into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
The Eagles broke the game open with three goals in the third quarter from Alex De Cain, Laila Rosenquest and Caroline Chisholm.
Arianna Fragomeni came in to net in the fourth quarter, recording her first minutes in the Maroon and Gold and helping the Eagles preserve the shutout.

The Eagles return to action Sunday when they travel to Cambridge to face Harvard at noon on ESPN+.
