Eagles Host Maine Before Travel to Harvard

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team spends the upcoming weekend in Massachusetts as they start out hosting Maine at UMass Lowell on Friday at 12 p.m. before traveling across the river to No. 3 Harvard on Sunday at 1 p.m.
THE OPPONENTS
Maine
- Friday will mark the 18th meeting between Boston College and Maine.
- The Eagles opened their 2025 season against the Black Bears, earning a 2-0 victory in Maine.
- Maine enters Friday's matchup with a 2-2 record on the season and is coming off back-to-back shutout victories over Stonehill and Davidson.
- Saylor Kuefler leads the Black Bears offensively with two goals, while Taylor Stanford, Martha Barratt and Nicole Kowalewski have each added one.
- Goalkeeper Annabel Halkes recorded two shutouts last weekend and enters Friday's matchup with a 1.99 goals-against average and .739 save percentage. Kowalewski was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, while Halkes earned America East Goalkeeper of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors.
No. 3 Harvard
- Sunday will mark the 33rd meeting between Boston College and Harvard and the first matchup between the programs since 2019.
- The Crimson enter the weekend ranked No. 3 in the NFHCA poll after opening the 2026 season with a pair of victories over UMass Lowell and No. 9 UConn.
- Harvard returns eight starters from last season's NCAA Tournament semifinal team, including its top three goal scorers from 2025: senior Sage Piekarski, junior Martha le Huray and senior captain Lara Beekhuis.
- The Crimson also return three of their five All-Americans from a season ago in Piekarski, le Huray and sophomore goalkeeper Linde Burger. Harvard set a program record with five All-Americans in 2025.
- The defending Ivy League regular-season champions opened the season with a 5-1 victory over UMass Lowell, scoring five goals from five different players. Harvard followed with a 1-0 shutout win over UConn, with Beekhuis scoring the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter.
GOALIE ON WATCH
Senior goalkeeper Charley Kramer returns for her final season between the posts, looking to continue her climb up the Boston College record books.
Kramer currently ranks 10th all-time at Boston College with 19 career wins and three shutouts. Last season, she posted a 1.40 goals-against average, ranking among the top 10 single-season marks in program history.
Through the first four games of the 2026 season, Kramer has recorded 16 saves and owns a .640 save percentage.
THE GOALS
Four Eagles have accounted for Boston College's first six goals of the season.
Klara Mueffelmann and Alex De Cain lead the way with two goals apiece, while Caroline Chisholm and Melea Weber have each added one.
Mueffelmann opened the season with both of her goals in BC's 3-1 victory over Providence. Madelieve Drion has assisted on two goals this season, both coming on goals scored by De Cain.
UP NEXT
The Eagles hit the road next weekend for their first ACC game of the season, traveling to Louisville on Friday, Sept. 18 for a six o'clock matchup. BC will then make its way to Columbus for a Sunday matchup against Ohio State, with the game set for noon.
