NEWTON, Mass. – The No. 16 Boston College field hockey team upset the No. 2 Louisville Cardinals, 1-0, on Saturday, March 27 at the Newton Field Hockey Complex.
Emily Gillespie earned her second-career win and first-career shutout, making four saves on the day.
BC start quick out of the gates, outshooting Louisville 7-1 in the first frame. Louisville ended up outshooting BC, 14-13, but the Eagles held an advantage with seven shots on goal to Louisville's five.
The game remained scoreless until the 57th minute when Sky Caron scored on a penalty stroke to give BC the win.
BC has now won four straight and moves to 4-5 on the year and 1-1 in the ACC this Spring.

BC is back in ACC play next weekend, Friday, April 2, at Virginia for a 2 p.m. start.
