Terriers scored two runs with two outs in the seventh
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Boston University was down to its final strike, but the Terriers scored two runs with two outs in the seventh to capture a 3-2 victory over Boston College Tuesday afternoon at Harrington Athletics Village.

The victory moved BU to 11-1 on the season while BC dropped to 5-11.

Boston College struck first with a RBI single by Emme Martinez in the first inning to plate Ellie Mataya. Over her last six games, Martinez has been swinging a hot bat, collecting 10 hits to raise her average on the season to .277.

Maddy Carpe's two-out triple in the fourth extended the BC lead to 2-0. The line drive to center scored CC Cook all the way from first base.

BU got one run back with a two-out hit of its own in the sixth as Kayla Roncin lifted it just out of the reach of BC shortstop Djhane Valido into center field to cut the deficit to 2-1.

The Terriers took their first lead of the game in the top of the seventh scoring two runs on an error with two outs to go ahead, 3-2.

The comeback spoiled a strong starting effort for Cook on the mound. She tossed her second consecutive complete game, allowing just four hits and three unearned runs.

BC returns to action this weekend with a four-game series against No. 13 Florida State. The series begins Friday at 3 p.m. with live coverage on ACC Network Extra from Harrington Athletics Village.
