
BC Volleyball Heads to Atlanta to Face GT and UNC

Eagles back in action for the first time in a month since defeating Northeastern.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College is on the road for a pair of ACC matches in Atlanta this weekend beginning Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m. against host No. 20 Georgia Tech. The Eagles then take on UNC; their first conference opponent outside of the AVCA top-25 all season.

About the Eagles...
BC returns to the court for the first time in nearly a month; last defeating Northeastern in four sets at home on Feb. 13. Leading the Eagles' attack is senior outside hitter Clare Naughton at 2.90 kills per set to go with 2.42 digs per set on the other side of the ball. She posted a 13-kill, 19-dig double-double in the fall finale vs. No. 5 Notre Dame. Sophomore middle blocker Gabby McCaa continues to produce at the net and is hitting a team-best .356 with 29 kills and 29 blocks. Freshman Anna Murphy leads the Eagles' back row with 3.53 digs per set after a career-high 18 vs. Northeastern. Boston College's 6-2 offense features a pair of freshman setters; Sophia Lambros and Grace Penn. Lambros averages a team-high 4.68 assists per set, while Penn adds 4.03.

Boston College has won its last two matches against Georgia Tech; 3-2 in 2019 and 3-1 in 2018. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series 22-5.

The Eagles won the first two sets, including a 31-29 marathon first set, and ultimately staved off a Yellow Jackets rally with a 15-11 fifth to claim the match. Clare Naughton totaled 16 kills and hit .333, while Cat Balido hit .448 with 15 kills.

A year after picking up its first win over North Carolina in program history, BC was swept in Chapel Hill in 2019. Jewel Strawberry tallied 10 kills and seven digs.
