Today's game marks the 54th meeting between the two schools.
Boston College is 38-15 all-time vs. Rhode Island, dating back to 1911
The two teams played on Wednesday in a non-MTE game in Kingston.
BC and URI met last year in Bubbleville, with BC winning, 69-64.
Head coach Earl Grant is 1-2 all-time vs. Rhody, having split a home/home series while at the College of Charleston from 2017-19.
The two teams could potentially meet on the second day of the upcoming Sunshine Slam MTE games in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Today is the third game of the Sunshine Slam.
BC downed Holy Cross, 85-55, in the opening game of the MTE.
Last night, BC dropped a 68-61 decision to Utah.
Dating back to 1951-52, Boston College has compiled a 98-89 record in multi-team events (MTE) and in-season tournaments.
Last season, BC was 1-1 in the 2K Sports Empire Classic held at Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
In 2018-19, the Eagles captured the inaugural Fort Myers Tipoff in Fort Myers, Fla.

HELLO AGAIN...

Today's game marks the first time since the 2001-02 season that Boston College has faced the same non-conference opponent twice in a season.
In a similar circumstance, Boston College hosted Holy Cross on Dec. 16, 2001 and faced them again in the Rainbow Classic on Dec. 22 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

BICKERSTAFF BIG AT RHODE ISLAND

T.J. Bickerstaff registered his first career double-double, with career-highs in points (22) and rebounds (15).
Bickerstaff added three steals and two blocks - one of only two players to have a stat line with at least 22-15-3-2.
The 6-9 transfer was averaging 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in only 22 minutes per contest through the first three games.
The transfer from Drexel is shooting nearly 53% from the floor, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

BOO FROM THE WOO - LANGFORD JR. BREAKING OUT

Through five games, DeMarr Langford Jr. is showing no signs of a sophomore slump.
He averaged 17.3 points per game while shooting nearly 63.3% (19-30) from the floor in the Eagles' first three wins..
Langford Jr. scored in double figures in each of those three games, including a career-high 20 points (6-9 FG; 8-8 FT) in 31 minutes vs. Holy Cross.
The sophomore connected 13 of his first 15 field goal attempts on the season, making his first five shots vs. Holy Cross.
He opened the season with a 16-point performance vs. Dartmouth, making 8-of-10 shots on the night.
Since 1996-97, only 22 Boston College players have shot at least 80.0% from the floor while attempting at least 10 field goals.
Last season as a freshman, he averaged 6.7 points and 4.2 boards while adding 1.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Langford Jr. - nicknamed Boo by his grandmother - is the younger brother of starting point guard Makai Ashton-Langford.
On Nov. 26, 2020 vs. Rhode Island, they became the first brothers from Massachusetts to start in the same game for BC.

ASHTON-LANGFORD'S JOURNEY CONTINUES

Makai Ashton-Langford enters his fourth season of college basketball in 2021-22.
He is averaging 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
He did not miss a shot in 37 minutes of play against Dartmouth in the season opener (2-2 FG; 4-4 FT).
Against Fairfield, Ashton-Langford scored a season-high 17 points (6-9 FG; 3-4 3FG).
Last season, he posted career-highs averages in scoring (9.6 ppg), rebounding (3.3), assists (3.2), and steals (1.7).
Over the final four games of the 2020-21 season, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists - one of just two ACC players to post those averages over the final stretch of the regular season.
During that span, the 6-3 guard shot nearly 56% from the floor (20-36) and 40% from 3FG (6-15), while posting an assist/turnover ratio of 2.71:1 (19:7) and a steal/turnover ratio of 0.86:1 (6:7).
Ashton-Langford ranked 56th nationally in steal percentage (3.6) and 201st in assist rate (24.5) per KenPom.
He tallied double-digits in the scoring column on seven occasions and dished out six or more assists on three occasions.
This past summer, Ashton-Langford was awarded his undergraduate degree in communications from Boston College.
He began his college career at Providence, playing 63 games for the Friars from 2017-19.

QUINTEN POST-ING NUMBERS

Quinten Post made an impact in his first game for Boston College, registering a new career-high wth 14 points vs. Dartmouth.
The 7-0 center is averaging 9.8 points per game through five outings.
He has reached double figures three times this year, while nearly logging a double-double vs. Fairfield (9 pts/8 reb).

ZACKERY DISHIN' AND SWISHIN'

Jaeden Zackery is averaging 12.0 points and 3.8 assists over the last four games, with an assist/turnover ratio of 3.75:1.
Zackery became the first BC freshman to dish out at least six assists in consecutive games in nearly a decade.
During the 2012-13 season, Joe Rahon had six dimes against Providence (12/21/12) and Holy Cross (12/29/12).
Zackery has made 18-of-35 shots from the floor over the last four games.
