Marnelle Garraud knocked down six three-pointers for the Eagles
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - A strong fourth quarter by Notre Dame (7-5, 5-3 ACC) secured an 83-73 victory over Boston College (5-7, 1-7 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at Purcell Pavilion.

Notre Dame's Dara Mabrey led all scorers in the contest with 21 points while juniors Makayla Dickens and Marnelle Garraud led the charge for the Eagles with 18 points each.

Garraud was on fire in the second half, scoring all 18 points in the final 20 minutes of play. She was 6-of-8 from behind the arc for the Eagles.

Dickens finished with 18 points, including four from behind the arc. BC as a team connected on a season-best 13 three-point field goals.

Junior forward Taylor Soule ended the game with 15 points, nine rebounds and career-high five assists for the Eagles. BC totaled 21 assists on its 28 made field goals. Â

The Eagles led the Irish 18-14 after one quarter of play fueled by 11 points from Dickens. She was 4-of-5 from the field, including three, three-point field goals.

Notre Dame outscored the Eagles 27-15 in the second quarter to take a 41-33 lead into halftime. BC was unable to stay on top heading into the half as the Irish shot 63% from the field in the period.

Garraud caught fire to start the third quarter as she knocked down three, three-pointers in the early going. The game was eventually tied at 49 when Dickens hit a triple with 4:21 remaining in the period, however, the Irish outscored BC 6-4 in the final 3:16 of the frame to take a 55-53 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

Notre Dame secured the victory by outscoring BC 28-20 in the fourth quarter. Garraud's strong showing of nine points in the frame was not enough to complete the comeback effort.

Notre Dame was extremely efficient on the offensive end the entire game, shooting 61.4 percent for the game, and 68.8 percent in the second half.
