CHESTNUT HILL, Mass – No. 1 Louisville had five players in double-figures as the Cardinals captured a 97-68 victory at Boston College Thursday night inside Conte Forum.
Junior Taylor Soule led the BC charge with 20 points and four rebounds while Louisville's Dana Evans led all scorers with 23 points.
After a tightly contested first quarter, the Eagles found themselves trailing 29-25. The quarter was highlighted by 11 points from junior Makayla Dickens on 4-of-5 shooting, while BC shot a scorching 66.7% as a team from the field in the opening 10 minutes.
BC tied the game at 33 in the second quarter before Louisville responded with a 17-2 run to take control of the game.
The Cardinals outscored the Eagles in the second quarter 21-13 to open up a 50-38 lead heading into halftime. Louisville shot a collective 54.3% from the field in the first half and held a 21-11 advantage on the boards.
Louisville remained red-hot in the second half as the Cardinals secured the 29-point victory.
Soule led the charge for BC in the final 20 minutes. She scored 10 of BC's 16 points in the third quarter en route to 17 second half points.
Dickens finished with 17 points, including 5-of-6 from three-point range for the Eagles. As a team, BC shot 50 percent from behind the arc, connecting on 9-of-18.
Freshman guard Allie Palmieri made her collegiate debut after joining the team on January 19 as she graduated from high school early. The Trumbull, Conn., native finished with three points in 24 minutes of action.
Boston College is back in action on Sunday, February 7 as they hit the road to take on the Clemson Tigers. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. with coverage on ACC Network Extra.
