Eagles Fall Late to Iowa State

Susannah Anderson started the game for BC, throwing 6.1 innings, allowing nine hits and giving up five runs with six strikeouts. CC Cook came in for relief in the seventh, throwing .2 innings with a strikeout.
Kristin Giery and Gianna Boccagno paced the offense for the Eagles, as Giery went 2/4 and an RBI, while Boccagno hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
Iowa State opened the scoring, tallying runs in both the first and second innings to jump out to a 2-0 lead.Â
BC answered, though, when a third inning rally would tie it at two. Giery would plate Ellie Mataya to open BC's scoring, before Djhane Valido, the next batter, would score Jenna Ergle.
The Cyclones then jumped back out to a lead, scoring a run in both the fifth and sixth innings.Â
Boccagno then stepped to the plate with a runner on first and hit a 3-2 pitch to left field to bring the Eagles level at four.
Iowa State then scored in the top of the seventh to take its final lead of the game, 5-4.
What's Next
Boston College is back next weekend, Feb. 27-29 in Athens, Georgia to play Georgia, Eastern Illinois and Western Carolina.
