
Eagles Hit New Stride at BU Multi-Meet

BOSTON – The Boston College men's track and field team showed a good amount of success at the BU Multi-Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the BU Track and Tennis Center. The Eagles had eight top-three finishes, including three event wins.
Marcus Manson was the first to win an event, running a 1:05.43 to finish in first in the 500m. Sean Sullivan then became the next to win an event, winning the mile in 4:06.86. His time smashes his PR and gives him both an IC4A qualifier and ACC Indoor Championships qualifier. The last to win an event was a usual one, Avery Mckenzie, who took first in the long jump with a mark of 6.61m (21-8.25).
Following Mckenzie in the long jump was Michael Oduro, who placed second in the event with a jump of 6.51m (21-4.25). Erik Linden also set a PR in the mile, trailing Sullivan by just under three seconds to run a time of 4:09.41 and finish in third.
Alexander Horgan and John Wacker also had third-place finishes. Horgan ran an 8:53.78 in the 3000m while Wacker ran a 1:53.58 in the 800m.
The Eagles closed the meet with a second place team effort in the 4x400m relay. The group of Khalfani Green, Yahya Soliman, Stephen Windisch and Manson ran a time of 3:24.23 to just outstretch Sacred Heart for second.

BC is back next weekend in the John Thomas Terrier Classic, also at the BU Track and Tennis Center, on Jan. 24-25.
