Mckenzie Leads BC at Beantown Challenge

ALLSTON, Mass. – Senior Avery Mckenzie continued his strong senior season at the Beantown Challenge, placing second in the triple jump on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Gordon Indoor Track at Harvard University.
Mckenzie reached a mark of 15.02m (49-3.50), which makes him the fourth jumper in school history to break the 15 meter mark and the first in over 20 years.
Ryan Scanlon also earned a podium finish, running a 4:13.76 to place second in the mile. The time is an IC4A qualifier.
The Eagles also had a fifth- and sixth-place finisher in the 3000m, with John Carter finishing fifth in 8:49.99 and Alexander Horgan in sixth with an 8:50.68.
Erik Linden placed sixth in the 1000m, running a 2:31.55.
What's Next
The Eagles are back in action next weekend, competing in the BU Multi-Team Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
