Eagles Close Regular Season with Three Home Matches

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's tennis (6-14) closes the regular season with three home matches this weekend, the final three to be played at the Flynn Recreation Complex. The Eagles welcome Clemson to the Heights at 4 p.m. on Friday (April 12), followed by a doubleheader against No. 40 Georgia Tech and Bentley on Sunday (April 14) beginning at 12 p.m.
SENIOR DAY
Sunday will be Senior Day for four graduating Boston College players: Conor Mullins (graduate student), Peter Campana, Will Conigliaro and Max MacKinnon.Â
SCOUTING CLEMSON
The Tigers enter the weekend at 8-15 overall and 1-9 in ACC play, having lost nine straight matches. Clemson fell to NC State and Louisville at home last weekend. Simon Baudry is the 102nd-ranked player in the nation in singles. Clemson leads the all-time series 16-1 over the Eagles and has defeated BC 6-1 in each of the last two seasons.
SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH
The Yellow Jackets are 40th in this week's ITA national rankings, up from 49th last week. Georgia Tech is 10-9 on the season with a 5-5 conference mark but is 0-7 on the road. Carlos Divar ranks 27th in the nation as a singles player and sits 72nd as a doubles pair with Phillip Gresk. GT beat BC 4-0 in back-to-back weeks at the end of last season.
SCOUTING BENTLEY
The Falcons are 11-4 (4-0) in Division II this season, having won four straight and nine of their last 10 overall. Bentley will face Southern New Hampshire on Thursday and Franklin Pierce on Saturday before traveling to Chestnut Hill. Head coach Rick Edelmann has led the Falcons to the Northeast 10 Semifinals in each of his first five seasons at the helm.Â
