Five Eagles Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Five Boston College men's tennis student-athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference announced Friday.

Matthew Carioscia, Mai Gao, Liam O'Leary, Matthew Overvelde and Lukas Rais represented the Eagles on this year's list.

Gao earned the honor for the fourth time in his career, while Overvelde was named to the team for the third time. O'Leary collected his second career All-ACC Academic Team selection, while Carioscia and Rais earned the recognition for the first time.

According to the ACC, the academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average throughout one's academic career. Additionally, student-athletes must participate in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
