The lacrosse team wraps up nonconference slate tomorrow afternoon
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The No. 1 Boston College women's lacrosse team is set for one of their final nonconference clashes as they host UAlbany Tuesday afternoon in Newton. First draw is set for 4:00 p.m.
The Eagles are coming off of another impressive win over a ranked opponent as they took down No. 21 Georgetown, 21-11, at home on Saturday. BC was led by senior Dempsey Arsenault and junior Sheila Rietano who each tallied four goals for the home team. Junior Cara Urbank also found three goals and three assists for a career-best six points on the day, following only behind Arsenault's seven total. Five different Eagles put up at least three goals: Arsenault, Rietano, Urbank, Sam Apuzzo, and Jenn Medjid.Â
The Great Danes are currently 4-3 in 2019 and led by Sam Tortora's 31 points and Kyla Zapolski's 21 goals under first-year head coach Katie Rowan.
The Eagles and Great Danes have met only four times in the series and hold an even 2-2 record all-time. The last time the teams met, UAlbany came out on top in a 16-12 upset - the Eagles were ranked No. 14 in the country while UAlbany was unranked in the same poll.Â
The Eagles head to Chapel Hill to jump on their full ACC schedule following Tuesday's nonconference tilt. BC will take on third-ranked North Carolina Saturday, March 23 at noon.
