Eagles Head to Sunshine State to Face Florida State and Miami

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's tennis returns to ACC competition this weekend when it travels to Florida to compete against No. 41 Florida State on Friday (March 15) at 5:30 p.m. and No. 36 Miami on Sunday (March 17) at 2 p.m. The Eagles are trying to snap a four-match losing skid, sitting at 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the ACC.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE
FSU enters the weekend at 11-5 overall and 1-2 in ACC play. The Seminoles defeated Abilene Christian 6-1 on Wednesday night, pushing their home record to 10-1. Lucas Poullain is ranked 99th in the latest ITA singles rankings for the Seminoles, while Alex Knaff and Aziz Dougaz are the No. 62 ranked doubles team in the country. The Eagles fell 6-1 to then-No. 13 Florida State last season in Chestnut Hill despite winning the doubles point to open the match.

The Hurricanes (11-4, 3-0 ACC) have won three straight matches, including a shutout of Florida State last Sunday and a doubleheader sweep of UNC Wilmington and Boston University on Tuesday. Sitting just inside the top-20 nationally in singles is Adria Soriano Barrera of the Canes, while Bojan Jankulovski is ranked 71st overall by the ITA. BC defeated Miami 4-3 on the Heights for its first ACC victory last season, winning four of the six singles matches through Derek Austin, Chris Grasel, Markus Nordby, and Sean Mullins.

The Eagles host three matches next weekend, including ACC matchups with No. 27 NC State on Friday, March 22 and second-ranked Wake Forest on Sunday, March 24. In between on Saturday, BC welcomes Sacred Heart to the Flynn Recreation Complex in non-conference action.
