BC Heads Back to Boston University for Friday Meet

Ealges Will Compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's track and field team continues its winter season this weekend as it competes in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Feb. 8.

On the track, Monica Heil is the top qualifier for the Eagles in the 200M race. At the Terrier Classic on Jan. 25, Heil finished with a time of 25.64. Julia Lyons, Emma Kinney, and Vanessa Reimer will also be competing in the event for Boston College.

Gianna Bender is the top BC qualifier in the 800M. Bender took first place in the event last weekend at the New England Championships with a time of 2:12.07. Anna Harmon and Katherine Mitchell also qualified for Boston College.

In the mile race, Nicole Clermont and Kayla Smith will be running for Boston College. Last weekend, Clermont finished first place at the USA XC Championships along side Smith, who finished second. The two qualified for the World XC Championships that will take place in Denmark on March 30. There will be nine total BC runners competing in the mile on Friday.

Emma Taylor will be competing in the 60-meter hurdles for the Eagles. Last weekend, Taylor finished with a time of 9.42. Fellow teammate Jessica Creedon will compete in the hurdles as well.

In the field, Jessica Creedon will be one of two Eagles competing in the long jump. Her teammate Julia Lyons also qualified for the event this coming weekend.

Abigail Gothers will be competing in the high jump for Boston College. Last weekend, Gothers cleared 1.61 meters, good enough for a 12th place finish at the New England Championships. Elizabeth Knoll also qualified in the event for BC.
