Eagles Host Louisville in ACC Play Friday Night

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College (4-3, 0-2 ACC) hosts Louisville in conference play on Friday night (Feb. 15) at 5 p.m. on the Heights. The Eagles also travel to face Brown next Tuesday (Feb. 19) at 5 p.m. in Providence. Live results from the Louisville home match are available at BCEagles.com.Â
SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals enter the weekend at 6-3 overall following a 6-1 loss to Oregon on the road last Saturday. UL's lone ACC match thus far was a 4-1 loss at Virginia on Jan. 20. The Eagles are looking for their first win against Louisville in the sixth all-time series meeting. Last year, the Cardinals won 6-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
WEEKEND RECAP
BC fell to No. 13 Virginia 7-0 in its ACC home opener last Sunday but rebounded with a 7-0 victory over Merrimack at the Flynn Recreation Complex.Â
The Eagles lost the doubles point to the Cavaliers, but had their bottom three singles players take their matches to a third set. Conor Mullins, Sean Mullins, and Wills Tutecky all dropped their tiebreakers as UVA swept the match. Derek Austin suffered his first defeat of the spring in No. 1 singles to Brandon Nakashima.
Against Merrimack, BC lost just six games in the doubles matches and followed by winning five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Peter Campana and Nicolas deQuesada earned spots in the lineup and collected victories in the No. 5 and 6 slots.
UP NEXT
Following the Brown match, the Eagles won't compete again until the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships in La Jolla, California on the weekend of March 1-3. BC will also face UC Irvine on Monday, March 4 at 4 p.m. (ET).Â
