BC Competes at Season-Opening BU Opener

BOSTON – The Boston College men's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the BU Opener, held at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Avery McKenzie opened his 2019-20 campaign on a high note, jumping 14.99m (49-2.25) in the triple jump to place second. The mark not only qualifies him for ACC's, but is the fourth-longest jump in program history.
Stephen Windisch, David Olsen, Khalfani Green and Marcus Manson teamed up to run a 3:19.84 in the 4x400m relay and place third.
Manson then ran a PR in the 600m, which helped him place fourth with a time of 1:20.00. Ryan Scanlon's 2:27.96 qualifies him for IC4A's and gave him a fifth-place finish in the event. Ben Ruffing also ran an IC4A qualifying time in the 1000m with a 2:28.99 to place ninth.
Ben Ruffing and Sean Sullivan boh qualified for IC4A's in the 3000m, running times of 8:26.69 and 8:27.01, respectively.

BC is off for a month until the New Year, where they will head to Harvard for the Beantown Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Gordon Indoor Track in Allston, Massachusetts.
