Soule, Garraud Lead Eagles Past BU, 88-57

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Taylor Soule scored 15 points with a team-high seven rebounds, sophomore Marnelle Garraud added 15 points as Boston College defeated Boston University, 88-57, at the Case Gym on Sunday afternoon.
Soule scored five of her 15 points and Milan Bolden-Morris added six as the Eagles jumped out to a 24-13 after the first quarter. Garraud scored six point of her 15 points in the third quarter as BC held a 40-30 halftime lead. The Eagles would never surrender the lead as they outscored BU, 48-27, in the second half.
Sophomore Makayla Dickens finished with 12 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Milan Bolden-Morris came off the bench and contributed 12 points and five rebounds. Senior Georgia Pineau pitched in with 12 points, five assists and five rebounds and redshirt sophomore Cameron Swartz added 10 points with six boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College opened the game up on a 20-5 run behind two three-pointers from junior Milan Bolden-Morris. The Eagles shot 43 percent from the floor and capitalized on six BU turnovers to take a 24-13 lead after the first quarter.
- BC's offense stalled as Taylor Soule and Emma Guy picked up early fouls. Marnelle Garraud would hit two three-pointers in the quarter as the Eagles held a 10-point halftime lead, 40-30.
- The third quarter the Eagles defense held BU to just nine points as the offense started to click. The Eagles shot 53 percent from the field and built a 25 points lead with 1:40 to play in the quarter. Garraud and Soule combined for 12 points in the quarter as BC held a, 63-39, lead going into the final 10 minutes.
- A 15-11 run by Boston College pushed the lead to 28 points. Dickens had five points in the run while Emma Guy pitched in with four. BU could not stop the run as the lead grew to 34 points on a three-pointer by Bolden-Morris with 1:31 to play.
GAME NOTES
-Boston College edged the Terriers on the boards, 46-28. It marked the eighth game this season BC has won the battle of the boards. Seven players had five or more rebounds in the win.
- Sophomore Taylor Soule was 5-for-8 from the floor, had seven boards, three steals, three assists and 15 points. She was also 5-for-5 from the foul line. This was the fourth game she has led the team in scoring. Soule has also led BC in rebounding five times this season, including the last four games.
- Boston College had 19 assists on 31 field goals. The Eagles had 11 steals and forced 20 turnovers.
- Senior Georgia Pineau finished with 11 points, five boards and a season-high five assists.
