NC State Outlasts Boston College

The Wolfpack scored once in each half to get the 2-0 ACC win.
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State scored once in each half to secure a victory over the Boston College women's soccer team in an ACC clash on Saturday night at the Dail Soccer Field.
The Eagles had the game's first chance – with Sam Smith having her header off of a corner blocked in the box – but then the Wolfpack broke the deadlock in the 36th minute. It was fifty minutes later that Tziarra King doubled NC State's lead. Gianna Mitchell had a late look for the Eagles in the final minute of play but it went wide.
Allie Augur finished with three saves while Jessica Berlin had one for NC State.
Boston College will travel to Pitt on Thursday, Oct. 10 for another ACC contest before returning home for two games against Wake Forest (Oct. 13) and North Carolina (Oct. 17).

SCORING
- 36' | Kristina Schuster came down the right side of the box and just before the end line, slotted the ball back towards the six for Jameese Joseph to settle with one touch and then place past Augur.
- 86' | Maxine Blackwood and Paige Griffiths combined to feed Tziarra King from the top of the penalty box to near the left post and King put home her 10th of the season.
GAME NOTES
- Boston College is now 13-4-0 in the all-time series with NC State.
- NC State had the 19-5 lead in shots and a 6-1 edge in shots on goal … the Wolfpack out-earned the Eagles, 7-4, in corner kicks.
- This was just the first time this season that the Eagles were shutout.
- Gaby Carreiro played a full 90 minutes for the second consecutive game … it was her third outing this season of 90-plus minutes … Sydney Moore put in her 10th 90-plus minute effort while Mia Karras played 90-plus minutes for the sixth time this season and third consecutive contest.
