Pitt used a 94th minute goal to pull out a 2-1 ACC win over BC.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Behind Amanda West's 94th-minute game-winning overtime goal, the Pitt Panthers topped the Boston College women's soccer team, 2-1, on Thursday night in ACC action at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

The teams played to a scoreless tie at the first break – thanks in part to Allie Augur's right-handed parry on a close-range shot in the final five minutes of the half – but then Pitt struck first in the 50th minute. The Eagles kept looking to goal and equalized 15 minutes later, with Mia Karras sending in a cross that found the back of the net.

BC kept pushing for a second goal, with Olivia Vaughn's feed to Sam Smith and thee freshman's ensuing shot llate in the second half just finding the side netting. The teams headed to overtime, though, and Pitt's West able to net the game-winning goal in the 94th minute.

The Eagles will return home for two games, hosting Wake Forest on Sunday, Oct. 13 and North Carolina on Thursday, Oct. 17.

SCORING

50' | From the right flank, Cheyenne Hudson sent a long crossing ball into the middle of the box. Juliana Vazquez jumped up and headed the ball high over Augur but just under the crossbar.
75' | Jade Ruiters sent in a corner that was headed out to the right side of the field but Karras ran onto it and took a few touches past a defender and into the box. She sent in a low cross that a defender tried to play back out but the ball redirected inside the near post.
94' | Hudson received the ball on the right side of the field and took a few touches before sending in a cross from about 25 yards out from goal. West was able to time her run onto the ball and head it under the crossbar.

GAME NOTES

Boston College is now 11-1-0 in the all-time series with Pitt … the Eagles are 6-1-1 in Pittsburgh.
The Eagles had the 17-14 lead in shots while the teams were tied 3-3 in shots on goal … BC earned six corners to Pitt's two.
Allie Augur finished with one save for the Eagles … Amaia Pena had two saves for the Panthers.
Gaby Carreiro led BC with four shots, with one landing on target … Sam Smith had three shots … nine total Eagles registered a shot attempt.
With Mia Karras scoring, the Eagles now have 10 different goal scorers on the year.
