NEWTON, Mass. – Kayla Jennings, Francesca Venezia and Gianna Mitchell each scored for the Boston College women's soccer team in a wild 3-3 overtime match against Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon at the Newton Campus Fields.

Kayla Jennings scored exactly four minutes into the contest, with her sister Jillian Jennings assisting on the goal. BC's 1-0 lead would hold until the 57th minute when Hulda Arnarsdottir evened the score up.

In the 78th minute, Venezia's second goal of the year gave BC a 2-1 edge – and marked the first of a combined four goals in 10 minutes for the two ACC opponents.

Hayley Younginer made it 2-2 five minutes after Venezia's score and then Mitchell gave BC its third lead of the game less than two minutes later. The visiting Demon Deacons, though, would get an 88th-minute equalizer from Ryanne Brown and then neither team would score in the extra time.

Allie Augur finished with six saves for the Eagles. For Wake Forest, Meghan Kennedy started and played the first half while making one save and allowing two goals, and Mia Raben played the final 65 minutes and made three saves while allowing two goals.

The Eagles will remain home to host North Carolina at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.

SCORING

5' | From 30 yards out, Jillian Jennings served a free kick into the box where Kayla Jennings was able to get her head on it near the six, putting it just under the crossbar in the middle of the goal.
57' | Estelle Laurier chipped a ball into the box and Arnarsdottir settled it and then hit a right-footed shot inside the near post.
78' | Olivia Vaughn's strike from the top of the box was saved by Raben but Venezia was there at the left post to finish the rebound past a still-down Raben.
83' | Down the right flank, Arnarsdottir sent a ball ahead for Younginer. In the box, Younginer took a touch and hit a left-footed shot over Augur.
85' | Jade Ruiters sent in a corner kick to the far side of the box where Kayla Jennings headed it down to Vaughn and she one-touched it over to Mitchell for a strike that snuck just inside the left post.
88' | Just beyond midfield, Vicky Krug took a free kick that went to the top of the box. Giovanna DeMarco headed it towards the penalty spot where Hannah Betfort headed it to Brown who headed it back towards the left post and in.

GAME NOTES

Boston College is now 8-7-1 in the all-time series with Wake Forest … the Eagle have a mark of 6-2-0 in Newton.
This was the first-ever tie in the series between Wake Forest and BC … now 12 of the 16 meetings have been decided by one goal or less.
Wake Forest had a 19-16 lead in shots while Boston College held the 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Eagles now have 14 different point-getters on the season.
This was the second consecutive game against Wake Forest in which Kayla Jennings scored a goal … she also scored in last year's contest.
Jillian Jennings assisted on Kayla Jennings' first-half score … this marked the first time that the Jennings sister have teamed up for a goal.
Jenna Bike, Gaby Carreiro, Kayla Jennings, Erin Convery, Emily Langenderfer, Francesca Venezia, Jade Ruiters and Olivia Vaughn were honored prior to the game as part of the Eagles' senior day.
Venezia scored her second goal of the season while Gianna Mitchell put home her fifth … Vaughn finished with two assists and now has four on the year.
Mitchell earned her first start of the season and played the full 110 minutes for the Eagles … Riley Lochhead and Michela Agresti joined Mitchell in playing the entirety of regulation and overtime.
