Eagles Lose To Louisville, 3-2, In OT

Freshman Stefan Sigurdarson tallies two goals in overtime loss.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 20/26 Boston College men's soccer team fell, 3-2, in overtime at Louisville in a conference game on Friday night at Lynn Stadium.
Boston College entered the game unbeaten in six games. The loss drops the Eagles to 7-3-3 overall and 1-3-2 in the ACC. Louisville improved to 7-4-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference.
BC held the lead twice in the match behind goals from freshman Stefan Sigurdarson. Louisville tied match twice in the second half, including a goal in the 89th minute to send the game into overtime.
The Cardinals scored the game-winner in the 104th minute to pick up their second ACC win.

7' | BC - Stefan Sigurdarson headed a cross from Tyshawn Rose into the far post for a 1-0 BC lead. It was Sigurdarson's fifth goal of the season. The assists was the first for Rose this season.

72' | BC - Stefan Sigurdarson scored his second of the game. The freshman took a long ball from Tyshawn Rose in the box. He took one dribble and placed a left-footed shot by a diving goalkeeper.
89' | LOU - Lou Getz left-footed shot into the upper far corner to tie the match.
104' | LOU - Cherif Dieye from Kino Ryosuke.
GAME NOTES

- Sophomore Tyshawn Rose was credited with both assists in the match.
- BC freshman Amos Shapiro-Thompson returned to action after missing three games. He played 79 minutes.
- Sophomore Kristofer Konradsson played limited minutes in his fourth game back from injury. He only played 34 minutes.
- Louisville had 11 shots on goal, while BC had three. The Cardinals had nine corner kicks to zero for the Eagles.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Garner made eight saves in the match. He is now 3-1-3.
- This was BC's first loss since Sept. 20 vs. Pittsburgh.
