CLEMSON, S.C. - The Boston College men's soccer team fell to No. 3 Clemson, 3-1, in an ACC match on the road at the Historic Riggs Field on Friday night.
No. 21/30 Boston College is now 7-4-3 and 1-4-2 in the ACC. No. 3 Clemson is 13-1-1 and 5-1-1 in the conference.
Clemson scored a goal late in the first quarter and early in the second to secure the victory.
Boston College held the run of play early in the first half. BC's best chance came on a shot by freshman Michael Suski in the sixth minute. BC had two corner kicks but the stingy Clemson defense easily cleared any threat by the Eagles.
The Tigers struck in the 32nd minute on a goal by Robbie Robinson off a turnover by the Eagles. It was Robinson's 14th goal of the season. Clemson went up 2-0 when Tanner Dieterich scored in the 46th minute of play. James Brighton extended the lead on a goal in the 66th minute.
Senior Joe Kellett put BC on the board with a penalty kick in the 77th minute. BC earned the penalty kick on a hand ball by Clemson during a scramble for the ball off a corner kick.
Boston College returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 29, when the Eagles head to Harvard in a non-conference game in Cambridge. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

- Freshman Giacomo Piccardo (three saves) returned to action after missing seven consecutive games with an injury. He played the first half and sophomore Christian Garner (three saves) entered in the second half.
- Freshman Amos Shapiro-Thompson and sophomore Kristofer Konradsson returned to the starting lineup. Shapiro-Thompson missed three games and returned to action at Louisville on Oct. 18. Konradsson return to the lineup against Wake Forest but tonight was his first start in the last five games.
