Sophomore Georgia Pineau bolstered BC with 22 points but it fell short in the end
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's team fell to No. 4 Louisville, 87-52, on Thursday evening at Conte Forum, despite a team-leading 22 points and seven rebounds by sophomore Georgia Pineau.

The Cardinals improved to 26-2 overall and 12-1 in the ACC while the Eagles dropped to 7-19 overall and 2-11 in the conference.

BC outscored Louisville 23-12 in the first quarter, but the Cardinals scored 20 points in the second quarter alone to take a 32-27 lead at the half. A 13-0 run by Louisville in the third quarter allowed the Cardinals to take a double-digit lead into final quarter as they outscored the Eagles 35-19. Â Turnovers would ultimately hurt BC though as the Eagles allowed 20 in the game, helping Louisville clinch an 87-52 victory.

BC shot 39 percent from the floor and Louisville shot 55 percent. The Eagles grabbed 29 rebounds on the day while the Cardinals had 30.

The Eagles return to ACC play when they host No. 5/4 Notre Dame on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Conte Forum at 1 p.m.

How it Happened:
- BC opened the game with a three-pointer by Bolden-Morris and Pineau, which helped the Eagles take an early 8-2 lead. The Eagles went on a 7-0 run over two minutes and they out rebounded Louisville 11-9 in the quarter to make the score 23-12.
- The Cardinals opened the second quarter with two shots from behind the arc and they would close out the half on a 14-0 run, holding BC scoreless for nearly six minutes. Louisville's Sam Fuehring scored eight points in the quarter alone to give the Cardinals a 32-27 lead heading into the locker room.
- The two teams went back and forth to open up the third quarter with Bolden-Morris and Anastos each scoring a trey in the first two minutes to pull the Eagles within five. Louisville would go on a 13-0 run over nearly three minutes behind four points from Jazmine Jones and Asia Durr to take its lead into double digits. A three-pointer by Arica Carter with 50 seconds left in the quarter gave Cardinals a 20 point lead as they would go on to outscore the Eagles 35-19, making the score 67-46 heading into the final quarter.
- Louisville opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run. The Cardinals would go on to outscore the Eagles 20-6 in the quarter to secure an 87-52 victory.
