CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team closed its home slate for the season after being halted by No. 5 Notre Dame, 89-55, Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill.
Â
Since this was the home finale, the four seniors – Rachel Gartner, Andie Anastos, Martina Mosetti and Katie Quandt – were honored in a pregame ceremony to thank these student-athletes for their efforts over the past four years.
Â
Neither crew pulled ahead to begin the game until around the six minute mark in the first when the Irish found a 10-0 run to grab a cushiony lead. BC went into the halftime break down 39-30. The final frame began with the Eagles' biggest deficit of the game, which only continued to grow, and the Eagles could not cut into the Irish advantage.
