Eagles Take On Gold Rush Tournament

The women's golf team will open up the spring season on the road at the 2018 Gold Rush Invitational hosted by Long Beach State at the El Dorado Park Golf Club in Long Beach, California. The tournament starts on Monday, Feb. 12 and will run through Tuesday.

Boston College had a solid fall season with two eight place finishes, a 12^th and a second at the BC Invitational at Blue Hills.

In the off season, the Eagles added a new face to the roster – rookie Lauren Kim from Austin Texas. Kim went to McNeil High School and was the second player in program history to play in a state competition. She had five top-10 finishes in AJGA competition.

The Gold Rush Invitational will be Kim's first collegiate competition. She will be joined by teammates Ailin Li, Katie Kim, Jocelyn Chia and Bibilani Liu in the tournament.

Li was the Eagles top golfer in the fall. She placed 20^th at the Pat Bradley Invitational and was second on the roster with a 76.0 scoring average. Liu was solid in her first college half season as she placed third at the BC Invitational and shot a low round of 71 on the second day. She also was 26^th at the Pat Bradley Invitational and 20^th at the Yale Invitational. Liu's scoring average is a team-low 75.27.

Kim was 17^th at the Boston College Invitational as the team placed second overall in the event. The junior from Chicago also placed 16^th at the Yale Invitational where the team placed eighth overall. The final member of the travel roster for the tournament is senior Jocelyn Chia. She has a 76.3 scoring average.

Boston College will then have three weeks off as the Eagles will head back out west to play at the Meadow Club Intercollegiate in Fairfax, California, March 5 and March 6.
