Eagles Win Fifth Straight Red Bandanna Invitational; Kim Crowned Champion

CANTON, Mass. — The Boston College Women's Golf team came out of the 2026 Red Bandanna Invitational as champions, outlasting the field with a total score of 882. The Eagles won the invitational by 25 strokes to secure the tournament title for the fifth straight year.
The team's win was not the program's only success, as Frances Kim was named individual champion, shooting 2-under par overall over 54 holes.
Kim outlasted Yale's Hanny Wang by one, with the two settling the score on the final hole. She shot a 3-under-par 69 in round two and even over the course of the final 18 holes. The senior recorded an eagle on the ninth hole of the second round. Kim shot 1-under on Par-3 holes and 5-under on Par-5 holes. She recorded the most birdies of the tournament with 13.
Jun Xi Guo had an impressive day two, finishing even with a 72. The freshman recorded four birdies in the final round, and by doing so, jumped into fifth place. Guo shot 5-under on Par-5 holes and recorded eight birdies overall.
Rebecca Gyllner finished her first invitational as an Eagle, tied for sixth place. She also recorded an eagle on the eighth hole of the first round. Just like Kim and Guo, Gyllner also shot 5-under on Par-5 holes.
Joyce Zhang, placed tied for eighth and was consistent throughout the final round. Zhang finished 1-under on Par-5 holes and recorded eight total birdies, tied for the third most in the tournament. Juliette Demeaux placed T-14 and totaled six birdies over the course of the two-day event. She improved on her round two score, and recorded her best in round one.
Ana Lucia Trevino continued to dominate at the Blue Hill Country Club as she finished tied for third place and was the highest-placed independent. Trevino shot a 1-under-par 71 to close day one and was even on day two. She recorded seven birdies and shot par the fourth most at 36 times.
Riya Bapna finished her first collegiate invitational, finding her way into the top 15 at T-11. She bounced back on day three with a 75. Bapna shot 1-under on Par-5 holes and tied for the fifth most pars (35). Also making her debut for the Maroon & Gold, Grace Leber finished T-28. Leber shot par 30 times and closed the first day with a 74.
Sophie Bierstorfer came back in the third round with her best score of the invitational and her first tournament of the 2026-2027 season. She recorded a 75 in round three, shot 1-under on Par-5 holes, and recorded six birdies.
The Eagles will be back on the course on Oct. 3 to compete in the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Conn. The event will take place at the Yale Golf Club and conclude on Oct. 4.
