Eagles Find Success at Princeton Chase

BC rowing wraps fall season Nov. 10 at Foot of the Charles.
PRINCETON, N.J. -- With less than ideal conditions Saturday, weather cleared and races went off without a hitch on Sunday for the Princeton Chase at Carnegie Lake. The field included tough competition from across the country, including strong programs from the ACC, Ive League, and Big Ten conferences. The Eagles raced three varsity 8s for Sunday's racing, along with doubling up into the varsity fours and novice eight events later in the morning.Â
"It was a good early season test for us," said head coach Steve Fiske. "And while we would have liked a better end result, we learned a lot and showed some good progress".
Boston College started the day in the V8s, executing the first half of racing to plan, but failed to maintain good rhythm in the second half of racing. Heading out for the second time, the Eagles put together a complete performance, besting ACC foes UNC and closing the gap on strong out-of-conference rivals in both the V4 and the N8. Â
"This group is capable of a lot and we are excited about going to work to prepare for the Foot of the Charles in a couple of weeks," added Fiske.
The Eagles will finish their fall slate on Nov. 10 in the Foot of the Charles.Â
