Three Eagles qualified for the New England Championships
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College men's track and field team competed in its fourth meet of the indoor season on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27 at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center in the John Thomas Terrier Classic.

Top finishes on the day include a fourth place finish in the triple jump by sophomore Avery Mckenzie and a 16th place finish in the 800 meter run by junior Matthew Morano. Three individuals qualified for the New England Championships at the meet.

The Eagles will participate in their first Championship meet of the indoor season at the New England Championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 2-3 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center in Boston, Mass.

BC Highlights:
- Freshman Ryan Russell competed in the 200 meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.74. Freshman J'Saun Bastien, junior Michael Saxon, junior Olive Boucher and freshman Stephen Windisch also raced in the 200.
- Saxon also finished in the top 25 in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line in 49.76 to qualify for the New England Championships.
- Morano ran a personal best time of 1:51.32 in the 800 meter run to qualify for the New England Championships. Junior Andrew Willis and freshman Ben Davies also had strong performances in the event, missing the New England qualifying time by less than one second.
- Junior Ian Ritchie was the top BC finisher in the one mile run, crossing the line in 4:20.88. Classmate Zachary Beston was close behind with a time of 4:21.34.
- The distance medley team of freshman Michael Hains, Windisch, freshman Ben Ruffing and Davies earned a fourth place finish in the event with a time of 10:08.62.
- McKenzie finished in fourth place overall in the triple jump, jumping 14.41 meters to qualify for the New England Championship.
