Two runners earned top-10 finishes on the day
Boston, Mass. – The Boston College men's track and field team competed in its sixth meet of the indoor season on Saturday, Feb. 10 at David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the Track and Tennis Center at Boston University.

Top finishes on the day include a ninth place finish in the 60 meter dash by sophomore Richard Webber and a 10 place finish in the 1000 meter run by junior Matthew Morano.

At the meet, Edward Cheserek became the fourth person ever to break 3:50 in the indoor mile. He crossed the line in 3:49.44, joining Hicham El Guerrouj, Eamonn Coghlan and Bernard Lagat as the only people to break the 3:50 mark indoors.

BC Highlights:
- Webber finished in ninth place overall in the 60 meter dash out of 48 runners, with a time of 7.24.
- Freshman Max Herrerias was the top BC finisher in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line in 49.71.
- In the 200 meter dash, freshman Ryan Russell was the top finisher for BC with a time of 22.50.
- Junior Michael Saxon earned a 12 place finish in a field of 44 runners in the 500 meter dash, crossing the line in 1:05.53.
- Junior Ian Ritchie crossed the line first for the Eagles in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.11. Classmate Andrew Willis was close behind, crossing the line in 1:54.58.
- Morano earned a 10 place finish in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:25.05. He finished in 10 in a field of 67 runners.
- Sophomore Sean Sullivan was the top BC finisher in the one mile run, crossing the line in 4:12.01. He finished in 63 place in a field of 347 runners.
- Junior Sawyer Maher crossed the line first for the Eagles in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:14.47.
- The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Herrerias, freshman Stephen Windisch, junior Oliver Boucher and Saxon finished in 18th place out of 53 teams with a time of 3:19.40.
- In the field events, freshman Michael Oduro took 14 in the triple jump with a jump of 13.44 meters.
