BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior attack Kate Weeks broke the Boston College single-game record with eight goals. The previous record of seven goals was held by Covie Stanwick (2015) and Lauren Costello (2008).
- Sophomore midfielder Sam Apuzzo racked up career highs with seven assists and 10 points. Both of those numbers rank second all-time at BC in a single game.
- Senior goalkeeper Zoe Ochoa recorded five saves in the first half and caused a career-high two turnovers.
- BC was 22-for-30 in draw controls, with sophomore Dempsey Arsenault leading the team with a career-high seven.
- BC moved to 8-4 in the all-time series. It was the first road win for the Eagles at UMass.
- With the win, BC snapped the Minutewomen's 22-game win streak at home and moved to 2-0 for the fifth consecutive season.
TURNING POINT
- Down 4-1, junior midfielder Kaileen Hart ended BC's scoring drought with 9:42 left in the first half. The Eagles went on to score four more unanswered goals to head into the locker room with a 6-4 lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Weeks opened the scoring 2:18 into the game to put the Eagles on top, 1-0.
- UMass held the Eagles scoreless for 18 minutes while adding four goals of its own.
- After Hart ended the scoreless streak, Boston College notched three goals within 1:31 of play and took a 6-4 lead into the locker room.
- Coming out of the half, Weeks tallied two goals on assists by Apuzzo to extend the Eagles lead to 8-4.
- UMass quickly countered with a goal of its own, but BC responded with three more unanswered goals to increase the lead to six.
- With 19:00 left to play, UMass built momentum and scored three of the next four goals in the game.
- Ahead 13-8 with 11:06 to play, BC outscored UMass, 5-2, to secure the win.
