- Today marks the fourth time that Boston College and Texas Tech have met on the hardwood. The Eagles are 2-1 all-time. Â
- The first matchup came on Dec. 30, 1981 during the Gator Bowl Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. Texas Tech won, 84-78.
- Both of Boston College's wins over Texas Tech came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
- In 1985, the Eagles earned a 55-53 victory over the Red Raiders in Houston, Texas. Michael Adams led all scorers with 17.
- BC won the last meeting, 84-75, in the opening round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C.
- Tyrese Rice poured in a game-high 26 points, while Sean Marshall added 21 and Jared Dudley 19.
- Boston College is 17-16 against teams that are currently members of the Big 12.
- West Virginia is BC's most common Big 12 opponent. The Eagles are 8-9 all-time vs the Mountaineers..
- Thirteen of those meetings came when BC and WVU were members of the Big East Conference.
- BC versus the other Big 12 teams: Baylor (1-0), Iowa State (3-0), Kansas (1-2), Kansas State (1-2), Oklahoma State (1-0). TCU (1-0), Texas (0-1) and Texas Tech (2-1) .
- Dating back to the 1951-52 season, Boston College has compiled an 90-83 record in MTE and in-season tournaments.
- BC is 2-0 in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament so far, downing Maine, 85-65, and Sacred Heart, 73-53.
- Last year, the Eagles were part of the Barclays Center Classic, facing Kansas State and Richmond.
- The Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament continues on Sunday, Nov. 19 and BC will face either Northwestern or La Salle.
- Boston College trailed at the half but opened with a 32-9 run, taking a double-digit lead for the final 14:03 of regulation.

- Ky Bowman leads the squad in scoring (14.0 ppg), assists (5.3 apg), minutes (30.7 mpg). and 3FG made (6).
- The sophomore guard led the Eagles in scoring in the season opener vs. Maine, scoring 18 points.
- The Havelock, N.C. native dished out 13 of his 16 assists over the last two games, tallying just three turnovers (4.33:1 atr).
- Bowman dyed his hair red prior to the Nov. 12 game versus South Carolina State.
- Boston College is 4-3 all-time in games played on the November 18 date, last falling to College of Charleston, 71-67, in 2012.
- Several notable events occurred on November 18 - St. Peter's Basilica was first consecrated in 326 and later replaced by the current edifice in 1626; in 1302, William Tell shoots an apple off his son's head; Brooklyn toy maker Morris Michton dubbed his stuffed bear "Teddy" in 1902, in honor of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt;The U.S. signs the Hay-Bunan-Varilla Treaty granting it exclusive rights to a canal in Panama; the main span of the Golden Gate Bridge was joined in 1936.
- November 18 also marks the celebration of National Princess, National Adoption, and National Vichyssoise Days.
- A thick soup with leeks, onions, potatoes, cream and chicken stock, vichyssoise is served cold though sometimes is eaten hot.
- Notable November 18 birthdays: former Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, rapper Fabolous, actor Owen Wilson, author Margaret Atwood, U.S. Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix, astronaut Alan Shepard, and actor Dennis Haskins (aka Mr. Belding).
- Boston College committed a season-low five turnovers last time out versus Sacred Heart.
- It was the lowest single-game turnover total since Feb. 13, 2014 when the Eagles had five turns at Georgia Tech.
- BC committed just eight turnovers against Maine in the season opener.
- The Eagles rank fourth in the ACC in turnover margin (+5.33) and are fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.61:1).
- Through games of Nov. 15, Boston College ranks 20th nationally in turnovers per game (9.3 topg).

- Steffon Mitchell leads the team in field goal and 3-point field goal percentage through the first three games of the season.
- The newcomer is connecting on 73.3% (11-15) of his shots from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point land.
- Mitchell drained all three of his 3-point field goals en route to scoring a game-high 21 points vs. S.C. State.
- The 6-8 forward made 4-of-5 from the floor - 1-of-2 from beyond the arc - last time out vs. Sacred Heart.
- The Shakopee, Minn. native ranks third on the team in scoring (11.5 ppg) and second in rebounding (7.7 rpg).
- Deontae (Teddy) Hawkins leads the Eagles and ranks second in the ACC in rebounding, pulling down 11.3 boards per game.
- Last time out vs. Sacred Heart, Hawkins grabbed eight boards - seven coming in the first half.
- The 6-8 grad transfer from Illinois State grabbed 15 rebounds in the season opener vs. Maine and 13 against S.C. State.
- He is the first BC player to log double-digit rebounds in consecutive games since Dennis Clifford had 10 and 13 in consecutive contests at Louisville (Feb. 6, 2016) and vs. UNC (Feb. 9, 2016), respectively.
- Jerome Robinson is among 20 players nationally named to the 2018 Jerry West Award Preseason Watch List.
- Announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Jerry West Award watch list recognizes the top 20 shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball.
- Named after the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four MVP, the annual honor is now in its fourth year.
- A national committee comprised of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
- The watch list will be narrowed to 10 in mid-Feb. and in March, five finalists will be announced.
- The winner will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles on Friday, April 6, 2018.
- In his Boston College debut, Deontae Hawkins posted a double-double with 13 points (6-15 FG) and a career-high 15 boards.
- Seven of his 15 boards game on the offensive glass, which helped BC to 19 second-chance points for the game.
- It marked the fourth time that Hawkins had 15 rebounds in a game - the previous three coming when he played at Illinois State.
- The last Eagle to register a double-double was Ky Bowman, with 24 points and 11 boards at Florida State on Feb. 20, 2017.
- Johncarlos Reyes scored a career-best 12 points versus Maine on Nov. 10.
- The 6-10 sophomore made 6-of-7 shots from the floor in 21 minutes of play.
- Reyes also added six rebounds and tied a career-high with two blocked shots.
- Jerome Robinson was named to the Preseason All-ACC Second Team, announced at the league's media day on Oct. 25.
- The junior guard was an All-ACC honorable mention a season ago, ranking fourth in the conference in scoring (18.7 ppg).
- He reached the 20-point mark in 17 of BC's 32 games - tops in the ACC and second among all major conference players.
- Robinson was the only player in the ACC to average at least 18.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
- He also led the Eagles in assists (108/3.4 apg) and steals (55/1.7 spg). Â
- Boston College was picked to finish 14th on the preseason poll. Â
- Boston College ranks among the top 100 on three preseason projections for 2017-18.
- The Eagles sit at No. 95 on Ken Pomeroy's analytic website kenpom.com.
- BC ranks No. 99 on CBSSports.com's 1-351 poll, compiled by Matt Norlander.
- Boston College is also No. 99 on the 1-351 rankings list by ESPN.com's John Gasaway.
- Last season, three different BC players reached the 30-point mark in a single-game.
- Ky Bowman did so on three occasions, including a 33-point night against eventual national champion North Carolina.
- Jerome Robinson and Jordan Chatman also reached the 30-point mark, against Sacred Heart and Virginia Tech, respectively.
- The last time BC had three different players with a 30-point game in the same season came 10 years earlier.
- In 2006-07, Jared Dudley scored 30 against Michigan State, Sean Marshall had 30 versus Duquesne, and Tyrese Rice poured in 32 against Miami in the ACC Tournament.
- Wynston Tabbs has committed to Boston College to continue his academic and athletic endeavors. Â
- Tabbs signed an NLI and announced his commitment formally on Nov. 15 at St. Mary's Ryken H.S. in Leonardtown, Md.
- Tabbs, a 6-2, 190 lb. guard, was a Third Team All-Met and First Team All-WCAC selection last season as a junior. Â
- He averaged just under 16.0 points per game for SMR in the highly competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. Â
- He scored a season-high 34 points in a 74-58 victory over DeMatha and added 31 in a win over Bishop Ireton. Â
- Tabbs reached double-digits in the scoring column in all but five games a season ago for the Knights. Â
- He starred for Team Melo in the Nike EYBL, averaging 13.6 ppg on a squad that with seven NCAA Division I commitments.
- Rivals.com ranks Tabbs among its top 150 prospects nationally.
- "Wynston is a high-character young man from a great family and we are thrilled that he he will be an Eagle next season," said head coach Jim Christian. "He is a strong, athletic guard that will fit our offensive style of play. He is one of the best players in one of the toughest leagues in America - the Washington Catholic Athletic Association. He has been well-coached throughout his career and has the ability to score from anywhere on the floor. Wynston is a great fit for Boston College."
- Jerome Robinson, Ky Bowman, Jordan Chatman, and Deontae Hawkins shot 41.0% from 3-point land in 2016-17.
- Robinson, Bowman, and Chatman combined to make 174 trifectas for Boston College last year.
- Hawkins led Illinois State and ranked second in the Missouri Valley in 3FG%, shooting 44.3% (70-158) from beyond the arc.
- In total, the quartet made 244-of-597 attempts from 20'9" last year.
- Boston College was well-represented on Sports Illustrated's preseason projections for scoring impact.
- The backcourt of Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman each made the list of top 100 projected scorers.
- Robinson was projected to be the ninth-best scorer in the nation (18.8 ppg) while Bowman checked in at 40th (16.2).
- BC is one of six teams to have two players rank among the top 40 scorers on the SI list.
- Deontae Hawkins is projected to be the ninth-best scorer among transfers (13.2 ppg).
