BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SACRED HEART- ALL-TIME SERIES
- Tonight marks the ninth time that Boston College and Sacred Heart have met on the hardwood.
- The Eagles are 8-0 in the all-time series, which began in 2003-04.
- BC won the last meeting, 82-75, a season ago on Dec. 18, 2016.
- All eight previous matchups have been inside Conte Forum and four of the wins have come by double digits.
- The largest victory was a 101-68 BC triumph in 2006.
BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE NORTHEAST CONFERENCE
- Boston College is 29-6 against teams that are members of the NEC.
- St. Francis (N.Y.) is BC's most common NEC opponent, having met on 10 occasions.
- The Eagles will also face Central Connecticut this season (Dec. 17).
BOSTON COLLEGE IN MULTI-TEAM EVENT/IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT PLAY
- Dating back to the 1951-52 season, Boston College has compiled an 89-83 record in MTE and in-season tournaments.
- BC downed Maine, 85-65, in the opening game of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament.
- Last year, the Eagles were part of the Barclays Center Classic, facing Kansas State and Richmond.
- The Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament includes tonight's tilt against Sacred Heart before two games at Mohegan Sun Arena on Nov. 18 and 19. BC takes on Texas Tech on Nov. 18 and will face either Northwestern or La Salle on Nov. 19.
THE S.C. STATE GAME - TRENDS, FACTS, FIGURES, AND OTHER STUFF
- Boston College connected on its first five 3FG attempts and finished with 12 trifectas on the afternoon.
- Freshman Steffon Mitchell led all scorers with 21 points, making 7-of-9 field goals and was 3-for-3 from 3-point land.
- The 39-point margin of victory was the largest of the Jim Christian Era and the highest since BC bested Wake Forest by 39 points (W, 112-79) on Jan. 12, 2008.
- Boston College connected on 55.2% of its shots in the first half (16-29) and 48.4% (31-64) for the game.

- Boston College is looking to open the season 3-0 for the first time since 2015-16.
- Last time out vs. S.C. State, Deontae Hawkins posted his second straight double-digit rebounding performance.
- He is the first BC player to log double-digit rebounds in consecutive games since Dennis Clifford had 10 and 13 in consecutive contests at Louisville (Feb. 6, 2016) and vs. UNC (Feb. 9, 2016), respectively.
- Jerome Robinson has not scored less than nine points in a game since Dec. 9, 2016 when he had four vs. Hartford.
STEFF SHOOTING LIKE STEPH
- Steffon Mitchell drained all three of his 3-point field goals en route to scoring a game-high 21 points vs. S.C. State.
- The 6-8 forward came off the bench, adding seven rebounds - all on the offensive glass - and three steals in 23 minutes
- The Shakopee, Minn. native has made 3-of-4 from the outside through the first two games of the season.
- Mitchell ranks fourth on the team in scoring, checking in at 11.5 points per outing.

- Boston College is 6-2 all-time on the November 14 date, last downing St. Francis (N.Y.), 75-49, in 2015.
- Several notable events occurred on November 14 - in 1851, Herman Melville's novel "Moby-Dick" was first published; the Niagara Power Plant came online in 1896; Ray Charles' iconic "Georgia on my Mind" hit #1 on the charts in 1960; and James "Whitey' Bulger was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus five years in 2013.
- November 14 also marks the dual celebration of National Pickle and National Spicy Guacamole Day.

DOUBLE IT UP FOR HAWKINS
- In his Boston College debut, Deontae Hawkins posted a double-double with 13 points (6-15 FG) and a career-high 15 boards.
- Seven of his 15 boards game on the offensive glass, which helped BC to 19 second-chance points for the game.
- It marked the fourth time that Hawkins had 15 rebounds in a game - the previous three coming when he played at Illinois State.
- The last Eagle to register a double-double was Ky Bowman, with 24 points and 11 boards at Florida State on Feb. 20, 2017.
CAREER-HIGH FOR REYES VS. MAINE
- Johncarlos Reyes scored a career-best 12 points versus Maine on Nov. 10.
- The 6-10 sophomore made 6-of-7 shots from the floor in 21 minutes of play.
- Reyes also added six rebounds and tied a career-high with two blocked shots.
ROBINSON NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-ACC SECOND TEAM; EAGLES 14TH
- Jerome Robinson was named to the Preseason All-ACC Second Team, announced at the league's media day on Oct. 25.
- The junior guard was an All-ACC honorable mention a season ago, ranking fourth in the conference in scoring (18.7 ppg).
- He reached the 20-point mark in 17 of BC's 32 games - tops in the ACC and second among all major conference players.
- Robinson was the only player in the ACC to average at least 18.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
- He also led the Eagles in assists (108/3.4 apg) and steals (55/1.7 spg). Â
- Boston College was picked to finish 14th on the preseason poll. Â

- Boston College ranks among the top 100 on three preseason projections for 2017-18.
- The Eagles sit at No. 95 on Ken Pomeroy's analytic website kenpom.com.
- BC ranks No. 99 on CBSSports.com's 1-351 poll, compiled by Matt Norlander.

- Last season, three different BC players reached the 30-point mark in a single-game.
- Ky Bowman did so on three occasions, including a 33-point night against eventual national champion North Carolina.
- Jerome Robinson and Jordan Chatman also reached the 30-point mark, against Sacred Heart and Virginia Tech, respectively.
- The last time BC had three different players with a 30-point game in the same season came 10 years earlier.
- In 2006-07, Jared Dudley scored 30 against Michigan State, Sean Marshall had 30 versus Duquesne, and Tyrese Rice poured in 32 against Miami in the ACC Tournament.
ROBINSON SELECTED TO JERRY WEST AWARD NATIONAL WATCHLIST
- Jerome Robinson is among 20 players nationally named to the 2018 Jerry West Award Preseason Watch List.
- Announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Jerry West Award watch list recognizes the top 20 shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball.
- Named after the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four MVP, the annual honor is now in its fourth year.
- A national committee comprised of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
- The watch list will be narrowed to 10 in mid-Feb. and in March, five finalists will be announced.
- The winner will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles on Friday, April 6, 2018.
FOUR FOR THREE
- Jerome Robinson, Ky Bowman, Jordan Chatman, and Deontae Hawkins shot 41.0% from 3-point land in 2016-17.
- Robinson, Bowman, and Chatman combined to make 174 trifectas for Boston College last year.
- Hawkins led Illinois Stateand ranked second in the Missouri Valley in 3FG%, shooting 44.3% (70-158) from beyond the arc.
- In total, the quartet made 244-of-597 attempts from 20'9" last year.
TRIO OF EAGLES CITED ON SPORTS ILLUSTRATED PROJECTIONS
- Boston College was well-represented on Sports Illustrated's preseason projections for scoring impact.
- The backcourt of Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman each made the list of top 100 projected scorers.
- Robinson was projected to be the ninth-best scorer in the nation (18.8 ppg) while Bowman checked in at 40th (16.2).
- BC is one of six teams to have two players rank among the top 40 scorers on the SI list.
- Deontae Hawkins is projected to be the ninth-best scorer among transfers (13.2 ppg).
