How It Happened:
Boston College came out firing from long-range, connecting on its first five 3-pointers - and 7-of-14 in the first half - en route to taking a 47-19 lead at the break.
The lead grew throughout the second half, reaching as many as 45 - after two Steffon Mitchell free throws made it 79-34 with 6:51 to play.
Inside the Box Score:
49 - BC recorded at least 49 rebounds in each of the first two games of the season. The Eagles had 51 boards on opening night against Maine.

The lead grew throughout the second half, reaching as many as 45 - after two Steffon Mitchell free throws made it 79-34 with 6:51 to play.

- Steffon Mitchell led all scorers with 21 points. The Shakopee, Minn. native connected on 7-of-9 from the floor - including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. He added seven rebounds - all on the offensive glass - to go along with three steals.
- Jordan Chatman added 13 points, knocking down 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, to go along with two assists.
- Ky Bowman added 10 points, six assists, and four boards in 24 minutes of action. Â
- Jerome Robinson added nine points and five assists in 19 minutes.
- Nik Popovic narrowly missed a double-double, with eight points and a career-best nine rebounds. He also blocked two shots and tallied a steal in 15 minutes.
- Johncarlos Reyes chipped in with six points and six boards, while Gordon Gehan added five points.
- Boston College connected on 55.2% of its shots in the first half (16-29) and 48.4% (31-64) for the game.
- The 39-point margin of victory was the largest of the Jim Christian Era and the highest since BC bested Wake Forest by 39 points (W, 112-79) on Jan. 12, 2008.
- Avery Wilson saw his first significant collegiate action and had eight points. He connected on both attempts from beyond the arc. Classmate Luka Kraljevic tallied his first collegiate basket, finishing with two points and three rebounds.
- Sixteen Eagles saw action on the afternoon; 12 scored.
- Deontae Hawkins had 11 rebounds for the game - the first BC player to log double-digit rebounds in consecutive games since Dennis Clifford had 10 and 13 in consecutive contests at Louisville (Feb. 6, 2016) and vs. UNC (Feb. 9, 2016), respectively
