THE SERIES
- The last time the Eagles faced the Hurricanes was in 2014, when they opened ACC play in Coral Gables, Fla. The Canes swept the series in close games, by scores of 6-2, 5-2, and 4-3.
- Miami holds the series advantage, winning 18 of the 24 contests between the two squads.
- After dropping the first seven matchups to the Canes, the Eagles won its first contest in 2009.
- The Eagles have only won once in Miami: a 3-0 Friday night victory on March 12, 2010. The Hurricanes took the next two to win the series.
- The Eagles and Canes have met twice in the postseason, both times in the ACC Championship. BC got the best of Miami both times with a 10-1 victory in 2009 and a 12-10, 10-inning win in 2010.
- In 2013, BC took two-of-three from Miami in Chestnut Hill (April 26-28) to earn its first ACC wins.
- The Eagles have won both extra-innings games the two teams have played - the 10-inning, ACC Tournament matchup and an 11-inning bout to take the series in 2013.
EAGLES IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT

- The Eagles are 22-21 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and have earned a spot in the College World Series four times (1953, 1960, 1961, 1967).
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE EAGLES
- The Eagles' 34 overall wins are the most since the Eagles went 34-26 in 2009 and the 13 ACC wins are the most since 2010, when they were 14-16.
- BC is 10-9 against teams ranked in the top 25 and 4-3 against top-10 teams.
- Boston College collected the most neutral and road regular-season victories in the ACC in 2016 , notching 20 on the year.
- Junior right-hander Justin Dunn, who was drafted 19th overall on Thursday night by the New York Mets, has made seven starts this season and recorded a 1.43 ERA with 43 strikeouts and just 13 walks in those outings. He struck out a career-high 11 in the Oxford Regional opening game win against No. 15 Tulane, allowing just one walk, five hits and two runs over seven innings. - Sophomore Jake Palomaki has reached base in 47 of the Eagles' 54 games - including the last 14 - to bring his two-year total to getting on base in 85 career contests. His 46 walks in 2015 is a BC single-season record while his 42 walks this season is second. His 88 career walks is tied for ninth on BC's all-time list. He has stolen 19 bases this year, tied for third in BC record books.
- Sophomore Donovan Casey returned to right field after missing 24 games as a hitter due to a broken bone in his hand, which he sustained in the 13th-inning win over then-No. 16 Virginia on April 10. He went 2-for-3 and doubled in his first plate appearance in the win over Tulane and drove in the game-winning run in the 4-3 win over Utah.
- Senior Joe Cronin broke BC's all-time walks record with the 113th of his career in the win over Utah on June 4. He is third in BC record books with 50 career doubles and has reached base safely 301 times, good for sixth all-time.
