BC RETURNS HOME TO HOST #9/8 NORTH CAROLINA
• Boston College returns from its three-game road swing to host #9/8 North Carolina on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
• The game will be televised by ACC Network/NESN+ and can be heard on the radio on WEEI 850 AM and bceagles.com.
• Boston College has lost its first 10 conference matchups, most recently losing at #19/18 Louisville, 79-47.
• North Carolina has lost its last two ACC contests after winning its first eight. The two losses were at Louisville and Notre Dame.
• UNC won the first matchup of the season nine days ago in Chapel Hill, 89-62.
EAGLES LOSE AT #19/18 LOUISVILLE
• Freshman Sammy Barnes-Thompkins led Boston College for the second-straight game with 11 points as the Eagles lost at #19/18 Louisville, 79-47, on Saturday afternoon.
• Senior Dennis Clifford recorded nine points and 10 rebounds while adding three assists.
• Louisville started the game with a 19-2 run over the first seven minutes.
• The Cardinals maintained that lead the rest of the half and took a 32-14 lead into the break.
• Boston College started the half with a 14-5 run in the first 2:44 to cut the deficit to 37-28. Barnes-Thompkins scored half of the points in that run.
• The Cardinals responded with a 21-7 run to push the lead back to 58-35.
LAST TIME vs. NORTH CAROLINA
• Graduate student Eli Carter led all scorers with 19 points and added six rebounds as Boston College lost at #2/1 North Carolina on January 30, 89-62.
• Junior Garland Owens had a season-high 14 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists.
• Freshman A.J. Turner recorded 10 points and matched a season high with seven rebounds.
• North Carolina went on an 8-2 run to break a tie and take a 24-18 lead, but Boston College responded with five straight of its own to cut the lead back down to one.
• From there, the Tar Heels scored 15 unanswered points to build a 39-23 lead with 3:45 left in the half.
• UNC took a 41-30 lead into the break.
• North Carolina scored the first 10 points of the second half to make it a 51-30 lead.
• BC responded with a quick 7-0 spurt, but the Tar Heels maintained a lead of at least 13 points the rest of the way.
