- Boston College started the game with a 13-4 run in the first 5:40. Clifford had six of those points while Carter had five.
- The Eagles' lead stayed at nine until it was 25-16, then North Carolina rattled off seven-straight points to cut it to 25-23 with 6:48 remaining.
- BC scored the final five points of the half to take a 37-31 halftime lead.
- The Eagles led, 56-49, but UNC went on a 10-1 run to take a 59-57 lead with 3:18 remaining.
- A Carter 3-pointer gave BC the lead back, but the Tar Heels scored the next five points to build a 64-60 lead with 47 seconds left.
