TURNING POINT

Illinois scored a pair in each of the first two innings to take a four-run lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED

With one out in the opening inning, Allie Bauch smacked a two-run home run to stake the Illini to a 2-0 lead.
Illinois capitalized on a two-out error by the Eagles in the second, scoring twice. Remeny Perez scored the first run while Carly Thomas drove in the second by way of a single up the middle.
Boston College cut the deficit to three in the fourth inning when Chimento took a ball yard for a solo home run.
The Illini would respond with a solo home run of their own in the fifth courtesy of Thomas.
