TURNING POINT
- After San Jose State jumped on sophomore Allyson Frei for three runs, Dreswick came in and delivered 5.1 scoreless innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans opened the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the second. With two outs and runners on first and second, Brittany Abacherli got things started with a single to right field, bringing home Emma Entzminger. Alyssa Avila would score moments later off an illegal pitch from sophomore Allyson Frei. Finally, Aylssa Martinez drove home Abacherli with a single up the middle to open up a 3-0 lead after two.
- The Eagles answered with a two-out rally of their own in the top half of the third. Following back-to-back singles from Cooley and freshman Danielle Thomas, freshman Loren DiEmmanuele walked to load the bases. Sophomore Annie Murphy capitalized, drawing a walk to score Thomas, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
- Boston College would draw even in the very next inning, as Daulton smacked her second two-run home run of the day, scoring sophomore Chloe Sharabba.
- Luck played a role on the Eagles' go-ahead run in the top of the fifth, as junior Tatiana Cortez reached base on an error by the third baseman. Cooley scored from third on the error.
