BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Allyson Frei picked up her second win of the season, hurling five innings while allowing one run. She allowed four hits and struck out four.
- Sophomore Annie Murphy went 3-of-4 with two RBI's, three runs scored and one stolen base.
- Sophomore Jordan Chimento was 2-of-3 at the plate with a team-high three RBI's and one run scored.
- Freshman Kendra Friedt made the first appearance of her career, coming in for Frei in the top of the sixth and throwing a pair of shutout innings.
- The Eagles are off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1998.
TURNING POINT
- Boston College rallied with two outs in the bottom of the second, scoring twice and never looking back.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles struck paydirt first in the bottom of the second. With two outs and Murphy on second base, Chimento singled home a run. Freshman Danielle Thomas came up next and brought Chimento home with a single of her own. Boston College was able to load the bases, however, couldn't drive in any additional runs.
- With one out and runners on second and third, freshman Carly Severini hit a double that plated Murphy and sophomore Chloe Sharabba to extend the Eagles lead.
- The Wolfpack got one back in the top of the fifth, as R Martinez doubled home A Gibson with two outs left in the inning to pull the team within three.
- Boston College would answer in the bottom half of the inning, with two straight hits leading to a run, as Murphy singled home Sharabba from second. Following a double by Severini, Chimento singled, bringing home a pair to make it 7-1 Eagles after five.
- Murphy added one more for Boston College in the sixth, knocking in junior Tatiana Cortez on a sacrifice hit.
