- Both teams started slow on the offensive end but Kansas State made the first run, a 10-2 one, to give the Wildcats an 18-9 lead with 5:46 left in the first half.
- Boston College cut the deficit down to 20-17, but Kansas State responded with six unanswered points to build it back to a nine-point lead with 2:54 left.
- The Wildcats took a 31-22 lead into the break.
- The Eagles climbed back into it and made it a 36-31 deficit five minutes into the second half, but Kansas State responded with eight unanswered points to build a 13-point lead.
- The closest BC would get the rest of the way was nine points.
