- Boston College scored eight unanswered points over a 1:57 span to build an 18-9 lead midway through the first half. Popovic had six of those eight points.
- That sparked a longer 34-12 run that gave the Eagles a 44-21 lead with 2:21 left in the half. Robinson scored seven-straight BC points during that span.
- BC took a 46-30 lead into halftime.
- Stony Brook started the second half with an 18-9 run to cut the BC lead down to 55-48 with 12:49 remaining, but BC scored eight of the next 10 to push it back to 63-50.
- The Eagles led by as many as 18 points with 7:26 left, but Stony Brook made it a 74-70 game with 54 seconds to go.
