Eagles Host No. 23 Virginia Tech Wednesday In ACC Tournament First Round

EAGLES HOST VIRGINIA TECH IN ACC CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST ROUND
• Boston College will host #23 Virginia Tech on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the first round of the 2016 ACC Men's Soccer Championship.
• Adult tickets are only $5. Senior citizen tickets are $3. Youth under 18 and students get in free.
• The Eagles (7-7-2, 3-3-2 ACC) snapped a five-game winless skid with a 5-4 victory against NC State Saturday night. Sophomore Trevor Davock scored three goals in that match and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week.
• Virginia Tech (10-4-3, 3-4-1 ACC) had a four-game winless streak of its own before beating Pittsburgh on Friday night at home, 2-1.
• Boston College has a 10-1-2 record in 13 matches against the Hokies, including a 4-1 win in Blacksburg when they met in 2015.
LEWIS BREAKS CAREER ASSISTS RECORD
• Senior Zeiko Lewis broke the Boston College career assist record in the last match against NC State.
• He assisted on two goals in that win and now has 27 in his career.
• Lewis broke Louis Papadellis' record of 26 assists that has stood since his final season in 1980.
• The Pembroke, Bermuda product also ranks 10th all-time at Boston College with 55 points.
LAST TIME vs. VIRGINIA TECH
• Four different goal scorers led Boston College to a 4-1 win at Virginia Tech on September 25, 2015.
• Derek Lyons, Abe Bibas and Tommy Garcia-Morillo scored their first career goals in the match.
• Henry Balf was credited with the game-winning goal in the 43rd minute. It was the first goal of his career as well.
• Trevor Davock recorded a pair of assists while Zeiko Lewis also had one.
• Cedric Saladin made five saves in net.
• A Virginia Tech foul set up a Lewis free kick outside the top left side of the box in the 36th minute. He sent a pass into the box and Bibas put a header into the lower corner for the match's first goal.

• The Eagles regained the lead before the first 45 minutes were up when Lyons assisted on Balf's score in the 43rd.
• Lyons added some insurance shortly after halftime, putting home a rebound in the 48th minute to make it a 3-1 lead.
• Garcia-Morillo capped the scoring in the 83rd minute with an assist from Davock.

BC BEATS NC STATE, 5-4
• Sophomore Trevor Davock scored a career-high three goals as Boston College beat NC State on Saturday, 5-4. They were his first three goals of the season.
• Freshman Callum Johnson added a goal and an assist for a season-high three points.
• Senior Zeiko Lewis had a pair of assists and junior Isaac Normesinu was also credited with one.
• Boston College came out with three forwards in its starting formation and it resulted in Davock's first goal in the third minute. Lewis stole the ball in the defensive half and sent a long ball to Davock. He took it to the right side and found the left side netting for the 1-0 lead.
• NC State responded in the 12th minute after a dangerous foul call in the box gave the Wolfpack an indirect kick. Julius Duchscherer took it and struck the back of the net for the equalizer.
• Davock tallied his second goal in the 23rd minute to make it a 2-1 BC lead. He finished a scramble in the box after feeds from Lewis and Johnson.
• Johnson made it a 3-1 lead four minutes later when he took a shot from 25 yards out. The NC State keeper was blocked from its view and the shot went in without an attempt for a save.
• NC State's Tanner Roberts scored in the 59th and 69th minutes to tie it again at 3-3. The first goal was after a BC miscue in the corner on the defensive end and the second was a header off a corner kick.
• Davock scored 66 seconds after NC State tied it when he took a ball and made a magnificent run past a couple of defenders and the keeper for the goal.
• Simon Blotko and Clayton Sparks found Lukas Zarges for the third equalizing goal of the match in the 85th minute to force overtime.
• In the fifth minute of overtime, an NC State defender tried to play the ball back to his keeper with Davock on his tail. The two miscommunicated and the ball rolled into the back of the net for the BC win.
