SERIES HISTORY
- Boston College holds an 8-5 all-time record against NC State with two meetings coming in the 1930s and the rest after the Eagles joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2005.
- The Eagles hold a 7-4 record against the Wolfpack since joining the ACC.
- In the 13-game series, the home team has won the game nine times, but the last two games have gone in favor of the road team.
- The Eagles hold a 2-4 record all-time when visiting the Wolfpack.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
- Through eight weeks of the college football season, NC State is ranked 72nd in total offense and 26th in total defense
- Going into Saturday, the Wolfpack will be coming off its worst loss of the season, allowing 54 points to Louisville.
- The NC State offense will be under the control of quarterback Ryan Finley. Finley has accounted for 12 touchdowns this season with 11 of those coming through the air. Completing 62.8 percent of his passes, Finley has averaged 216 yards per game passing this season.
- On the receiving end, look for Jaylen Samuels to have the ball come his way. In seven games, Samuels has lead the team in receptions in five of those games and leads the team in touchdowns with seven touchdowns (four receiving and three rushing).
- While he does not lead the team in yards or receptions, Kelvin Harmon has 12 receptions with three touchdowns.
- On the ground, Matthew Dayes has shown to be one of the top backs in the ACC. Dayes leads the Wolfpack with 682 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The senior is averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
THE EAGLES BREAKDOWN
- Boston College remains one of the best defenses in the nation. Currently ranked seventh in total defense, the Eagles have allowed 292.9 yards per game.
- Graduate quarterback Patrick Towles injured his hamstring in the game against Syracuse and is listed as day-to-day. If Towles is not able to go, expect to see redshirt sophomore Darius Wade get the start as he came in to finish off the game against the Orange after the injury to Towles.
- Junior linebacker Ty Schwab has quietly worked his way up the leaderboard and now leads the Eagles in tackles with 42
- The receiving quartet of sophomore Jeff Smith, sophomore Michael Walker, junior  Charlie Callinan and sophomore tight end Tommy Sweeney have all recorded at least 140 receiving yards and have a combined total of six touchdowns.
- Junior defensive end Harold Landry continues to tear up offensive lines as he tops the Eagles' leaderboard with eight sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Landry ranks third nationally in sacks and ranks second in the nation in fumbles forced.
