BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel scored his seventh goal of the season on a header in the 15th minute of action.
- Freshman Callum Johnson scored his second goal of the season in the 38th minute of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC carried the play early and had a number of opportunities in the box but could not convert.
-The Eagles broke through when Mohammed Moro placed a beautiful cross into the box and Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel rose above the Lowell defenders to head the ball into the far post for a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute.
- Lowell had a great chance on a direct kick in the 25th minute by Jakov Basic. He bent the shot around the wall but the Eagles keeper Sedric Saladin punched the shot out wide to keep the Eagles up, 1-0.
- Freshman Callum Johnson scored in the 38th minute from 22 yards out. Johnson one-timed a ball that a Lowell defender attempted to clear out of the box. It was his second goal of the season.
- Lowell had the first chance in the second half on a direct kick from 25 yards out. Ivan Abramovic's direct kick flew over the center of the BC wall and over the crossbar in the 65th minute. Abramovic had another chance from 19 yards out in the center of the field on a set piece, and his shot sailed high.
- Wuilito Fernandes cut into the BC lead with 17 minutes to play as he one-timed a pass from Dario Jovanovski – BC 2, UMass-Lowell 1.
- Lowell tied the game with eight minutes to play on a goal by Abramovic in a scramble in front of the goal.
- BC's Zeiko Lewis had a direct kick from 24 yards out after being dropped by a defender. His shot hit the wall and the Lowell keeper Zach Rowell smothered the deflection.
- At the end of regulation, BC had 11 shots (four on goal), while Lowell had nine shots (five on goal). Each team had one corner kick at the 90 minute mark.
- BC had the first chance in overtime, as Lewis was sent into the box on a through ball from Schulze-Geisthovel. Lowell's Carlos Ruiz slid over and disrupted the run by Lewis and the ball was clear out of the box.
- Four minutes into the overtime, Lowell dropped a BC player outside the box. BC was awarded a direct kick. Isaac Normesinu placed a low shot to the far post and Lowell's Zach Rowell dove to keep the game knotted at 2-2.
- With 58 seconds to play, Abramovic scored the game-winner off a deflection in front of the BC goal.
