- Boston College is currently 11-2 and 0-1 in the conference. The Eagles are coming off a 58-33 loss to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. BC shot a season-low 20 percent from the floor and had 23 turnovers.
- The Eagles will play at No. 19/15 Florida State on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game can be viewed on ESPN3.
- Florida State is coming off a tough road loss at Louisville on Friday, Jan. 1 (79-69). FSU shot 49 percent but turned the ball over 24 times. Adut Bulgak led the Seminoles with 22 points and six boards, while Shakayla Thomas had 15 points and seven boards.
- In BC's first four ACC games, the Eagles will play four ranked teams, three on the road: (RV/RV Virginia Tech; 19/15 FSU; 18/16 Duke; 3/3 Notre Dame).
- The Eagles earned a vote in the USA Today Coaches Poll this week, marking the third week this season in which they received votes.
- BC opened the non-conference season with an 11-1 record in non-conference play, including an impressive 6-0 record in the month of December. The 11-1 record is the best start for the BC program since the 2010-11 season, when that team went 12-1.
- Boston College went 6-0 in the month of December, to become the third team to complete the feat in program history. The 2004-05 team went 6-0 while the 99-00 team completed a 7-0 December.
- As of Jan. 4, 2016, the Eagles are ranked No. 1 in the country in three-point field goal defense (22.6) and sixth in scoring defense (50.5 ppg.).
- Boston College is also 22nd in field goal percentage defense and 30th in field goal percentage. BC is also 40th in the country in team assists (227).
- BC's RPI is currently at 52 (as of 1.06.16).
- Boston College and Florida State have played 13 games with the Seminoles leading the overall series, 12-1.

 - Last year, Boston College lost No. 9 Florida State, 86-68, at Conte Forum. The Eagles were led by Emilee Daley with 17 points, Kelly Hughes and Nicole Boudreau each had 16 points. Daley had seven boards, while Hughes had nine in the loss. Florida State's Leticia Romero dominated play as she notched a triple double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

Cal Bouchard had 17 points, while Alissa Murphy, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame this past fall, had 13 points. Then sophomore guard Danielle O'Banion, who is the head coach at Kent State, came off the bench to score 11 points, including three three-pointers. That team was the first 20-win season and the first to make an NCAA appearance.
