BOSTON COLLEGE IN THE BEANPOT
Boston College returns to Causeway Street for the 64th annual Beanpot February 1, 2016. Following one of the wilder installments from last year, with TWO postponements and one the second-latest date to a second round in tournament history, the Eagles had their hopes of trying the Beanpot trophy streak of six straight after a loss to Northeastern in the first round. The Eagles five-straight Beanpot from 2010 to 2014 are a school record. Head coach Jerry York has won eight Beanpot titles (2001, 2004, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) and is currently tied with legendary BC skipper John "Snooks" Kelley. A Beanpot win would give York his ninth and put him in second place, alone, in the pantheon of Beanpot coaches behind BU's Jack Parker (21 Beanpot trophies). In all, Boston College has won the Beanpot 19 times with 15 runners-up showings, 23 third-place finishes and only six last-place finishes. The Eagles have never finished last under York. In all, York is 29-13 in the Beanpot. Boston College has won been awarded 17 MVP trophies and 12 Eberly awards. The most recent recipients of those trophies was Kevin Hayes (MVP) and Thatcher Demko (Eberly) in 2014. Since 1993, only BC and BU have skated away as the toast of Boston. In that 21 year run, BC has won nine trophies and BU has claimed 12 titles. Since 2016 has commenced, the Beanpot members are combined 18-4-5, making this one of the most highlt-touted Beanpots in recent history. Heading in, Boston College (No. 4), Harvared (No. 9) and Boston University (No. 10) are ranked three of the top national powers in college hockey, marking the first time the tournament has featured three top 10 programs.
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. HARVARD IN THE BEANPOT
Feb. 1, 2016 marks the 22nd time the Eagles and Crimson skate against one another in the first week with the rights to play the late game the following Monday. Boston College holds a 12-9 advantage in those meetings and a 27-13 win-loss total in all against Harvard in the Beanpot. Last season, Boston College and Harvard skated in their first consolation game since 2009 where Ryan Fitzgerald scored the overtime winner 1:16 into the extra frame to make sure Jerry York has never finished last in the Beanpot. Harvard actually won nine of the first 17 Beanpot matchups, starting on Dec. 26, 1952, but recent history has favored the Eagles. BC has won its last 11 contests against Harvard in the Beanpot with the last setback occurring on Feb. 2, 1998 (4-5 OT loss). Jerry York is 13-1 against Harvard in the Beanpo as that 1998 game was his only loss. In all, BC leads the overall series against Harvard, 72-45-5. Before Harvard had skated into Kelley Rink last season and topped the Eagles, 6-3, on Nov. 11, 2015, BC had won the previous nine tilts by a goal margin of +27. Jerry York is 24-6-2 all-time against Harvard behind the Eagles' bench.

THE LEGEND CONTINUES...
Boston College coach Jerry York has reached the 1,000-win mark for his career in his 1,703rd game as a head coach. In all, York's record is 1,001-595-109 (.619) in 44 seasons at the head coach level and 534-260-75 (.658) in his 22nd season at the helm of Boston College. York is the 128th coach across the big four (football, basketball, baseball and hockey) professional sports leagues and Division I college athletics. At the collegiate level, York is the 55th head coach to reach 1,000-career victories and the first to do so in college hockey. York remains the winningest coach in the history of the game. In his 1,000-career victories, Jerry York has defeated 69 different programs spread out through his tenures at Clarkson, Bowling Green and Boston College. The all time total goal count in Coach York's 1,000 victories is 5,421 goals for and 2,395 goals against.
JAMMIN' IN JANUARY
Following a 1-3-1 mark in December, Boston College responded with an undefeated 4-0-3 win-loss total in January. Under Coach York, it marks the third time the Eagles have flown undefeated in that month. BC went 7-0-1 in January for the 2013-14 season and 9-0-1 durin the 2004-05 season.
DAM-KO
Thatcher Demko contines to rewrite the record books at Boston College as the Eagle netminder tied the school record for shutouts in a season with eight after a 4-0 win at Notre Dame on Jan. 29. The San Diego native notched the record in just 25 games, tying Cory Schneider's record set in during the 2005-06 season. It took Schneider 37 games to capture his eight shuout. Demko's 10th shutout came in his 50th-career game. Demko is now four career shutouts (11) behind Schneider's career record of 15. Demko's eight blankings are best in college hockey this season. Demko is currently fourth in the nation in goals against average (1.64) and third in save percentage (.939) on the year and tied for first in overall shutouts with seven. For a career, the 6-foot-4 backstopper is 51-22-9 (.677) with a 2.05 goals against average and a .927 save percentage (2,147 saves on 2,316 shots). If Demko's 2.07 GAA held, it would be BC's second-best career mark all time.
GREASED LIGHTNING
Austin Cangelosi scored 12 seconds into the home opener against Wisconsin, marking the fastest goal scored by an Eagle since Matt Price tallied 11 seconds into the game against Northeastern on March 7, 2008. The Estero, Fla., native followed that with a goal 16 seconds into the game on Jan. 29 at Notre Dame.
McCAUTION
Defenseman Ian McCoshen broke through offensively and scored his first-career four-point performance on Jan. 15 against BU. It also stands as BC's fifth four-point showing this season. McCoshen pieced together his first-career five-game point streak from Jan. 8-22 and has scored in seven of his last 10 games, averaging a point per game.
EARNING 1,000 IN DEMONSTRATIVE FASHION
The Eagles ensured Coach York his 1,000th win by shutting out UMass, 8-0, on Jan. 22.
